Letters to parents 12.09.2024
12 September 2024
Dear parent/carer,
Once again, a huge thank you to all students, parents and carers for their support at the start of this term. Our attendance is looking really strong, as is our collective response to our push on uniform and jewellery – I genuinely really appreciate everything that you have done in support of the school.
This week’s letter will focus on just one thing:
Mrs Jackie Tutin:
Mrs Jackie Tutin was a beloved member of the SEND team, who really sadly passed away at the end of August. Jackie worked at NUSA for over twenty years, and we’re planning for as many staff to attend her funeral as possible, with minimal disruption to the school. As such, for her funeral on Monday 16th September 2024:
School will be open to Years 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13 – lessons will continue as normal for these students and there will be no disruption to their learning
School will be closed to Years 8 and 9 – I’m genuinely really sorry that this is the case, and I hope that the community understands the reason for this being the case, so we can send one final tribute to Jackie and her family.
As a final reminder, if you’d like to send your condolences through for us to collate by Friday 13th September, which we will then pass onto the family, you can do so by clicking here.
Year 8 & 9 Lunch on Monday 16th September 2024
As they won’t be in school, if your year 8 or 9 child is entitled to free school meals and you wish for them to collect their lunch, then they can come into school to collect a lunch between 12:30pm and 1pm on this date. A lunch will be available for them to take away at reception. Where they will be collecting a lunch, kindly click here to confirm.
Thank you, and I’m sorry for any disruption that this may cause.
Mr Matthew Turton
Headteacher
