Year 10 Work Experience

Work Experience for Year 10 Students 

 

Dear Parent/Guardian, 

 

We are pleased to confirm that our Year 10 students will be given the opportunity to complete 3 days of Work Experience between Monday 30th June and Wednesday 2nd July 2025. We launched the process in our National Careers Week Assembly. 

 

What are the benefits of work experience? 

 

Work Experience is a key element of preparing our young people for the world of work. The process of organising a placement, working with adults and challenging themselves in a new environment all help to develop key characteristics in our young people. Work Experience also raises student aspirations and increases their motivation to succeed at school. Students should be looking for a 3 day placement during the above dates. 

 

What does my child have to do? 

 

Students have been strongly encouraged to secure placements as soon as possible. It would be ideal if the majority of students could return from the Easter break with a work placement having been secured. Students will be shown how to log their placement details, when they find one, after Easter. All students should do, for now, is to contact employers, to find a placement and once confirmed, get the employers details, such as Name, Telephone Number, Address and Email Address. 

 

What happens next? 

 

The students will log their placement contacts on Unifrog and this then send emails to Parents, Employers and the Students, to complete various information.
