Dear parent/carer,

 

NUSA welcomed all students back this week, and it has been such a positive start to the term. On Wednesday NUSA celebrated the opening of our new library, the Tutin Library, in memory of our beloved Jackie Tutin.  All students will receive a library induction lesson followed by fortnightly English lessons. Students will also have the opportunity to visit the library during social times.

We have also introduced The Hive – a new learning support centre for all students with SEN.

Year 11 students began their mock exams this week, which will continue until the end of January. Please encourage your child(ren) to revise regularly during this period to help improve their performance.

NUSA is pleased to announce the introduction of a longer skirt option at the request of our students, accommodating faith-based preferences. Starting next week, any student wishing to wear a longer skirt may do so, provided the skirt is black.

INSET Day:
NUSA will be closed to all students on Monday 27th January due to an INSET day. Your child will not be permitted to attend.

Year 9 Vaccinations:

Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio (Td/IPV) & Meningitis ACWY Immunisations are due to take place at NUSA on 31st January 2025. These vaccines are free of charge.

Most children have been immunised against Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio and Meningitis C as part of the childhood UK schedule. Guidance from NHS England recommends that your child now receives a booster dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio and Meningitis ACWY.
