Setting Year 9
Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope this letter finds you well as we approach the festive season.
We are writing to inform you about an important update to your child’s learning journey, designed to provide more tailored support and maximise their academic progress. Starting after the Christmas break, your child will join a new learning group, carefully organised based on their current academic attainment. This change aims to deliver targeted teaching that best suits their needs, ensuring they are well-prepared for their upcoming GCSE studies.
Your child will remain in this group until the end of Year 9, after which they will be reassessed and regrouped for Year 10. Every assessment completed during Year 9 will play a key role in determining the most appropriate group placement for their Key Stage 4 studies, so we encourage students to approach their learning with diligence and enthusiasm.
We understand that changes like these may feel significant, but they are made with your child’s best interests in mind. Feedback from students and parents has shown strong support for this approach, and we are confident it will have a positive impact on your child’s academic journey.
As always, we greatly appreciate your support in working together to help your child achieve their full potential. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Wishing you and your family a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best regards,
Miss Flintoff
