This Week at NUSA:
As we approach half term, I would like to say a massive thank you for your support on our two key foci, toilet use in lessons and uniform…
- The corridors are pristine; students are in lessons and learning more as a result!
- Students are being proactive and taking up the uniform offered; we have a small handful (less than 10) students are lending uniform each day as we reassert our expectations
These changes are absolutely massive and are testament to your support of the staff at NUSA. We know that we are setting the bar super high but we also know that our students will reach it. We know that there is still work to be done (no school is ever perfect!) and we will continue listening and reflecting that in our next steps. We’re ploughing resources now into work on student punctuality and our whole school curriculum as our next two focus areas after half term.
The exams continue to be positive for our Year 11 and 13 students – thank you for your support and encouragement of them once again as they work towards their last exams just after half term.
School Values
One other project that we are currently in the process of reviewing are our NUSA values to make sure that they are fit for purpose and truly represent the school community. As part of this, we would like to invite you to have your say regarding which values you feel best reflect those that you would want NUSA students, staff and the school community to demonstrate. Following staff, student and community voice surveys, we are keeping “Integrity” as one of our values. If you would like to have an input, please complete the form below by Friday 7th June to vote for your preferences for what our other values will be.

SEND Drop Ins
We offer a number of ‘SEND drop ins’ throughout the year for parents/cares. These are open to any parent/carer who may want to discuss their child’s SEND needs further or parents/carer’s who have concerns that their children may have SEND needs that are yet to be diagnosed.
