This Week at NUSA:
Happy Friday!
We’re nearly into the last week before half term and we’ve been busy supporting Years 11 and 13 for their exams. Students have had great attendance at the booster and warm up sessions that have been provided for them, so well done to all of our students for taking responsibility for turning up to them! The feedback from students about their exams has been overwhelmingly positive, too.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for all of the parent/carer support that we have had this term. Whether it be this week for the Year 8 Parents’ Evening (despite the weather!) and around our push for improved uniform standards – your support is massively appreciated! As a school we know that we don’t, and never will, get everything right all of time, but all staff are really thankful of you backing us when it comes to cementing our expectations so that your children are in lessons ready to learn. We’re all on the same team and want all of our students to achieve the best that they possibly can, so we will continue to positively challenge our students to achieve the best that they ever can do.
On this note, we’re reaffirming our stance around a couple of areas:
Uniform – for absolute consistency, unless there is a reason not to such as warm weather, all students need to be in full uniform from line up at 8:40am until 3pm at the end of the school day (unless they are outside playing sport at break or lunch) at any time that they are in the building
Punctuality to lessons – we’re tightening up our focus on students arriving to lessons on time; more details of this will follow for our launch after half term
Safeguarding – rail safety:
As we approach half term, we’ve received a rail safety live stream recording that we wanted to share with you, in case of interest, to discuss with your child(ren):

Thank you again for everything that are continuing to do to support us!
SEND Drop Ins
We offer a number of ‘SEND drop ins’ throughout the year for parents/cares. These are open to any parent/carer who may want to discuss their child’s SEND needs further or parents/carer’s who have concerns that their children may have SEND needs that are yet to be diagnosed. If you wish to book an appointment in one of the slots below, please contact reception.
