This Week at NUSA
Thank you so very much for everything that staff, students and parents/carers have done this half term; I’ve been made to feel so welcome and I look forward to learning more about the school and our young people on the other side of the half term break. As I mentioned a few weeks back, please do let us know if there are things that, collectively, we could do differently to improve the school yet further – you still know this school much better than I do!
It’s been a busy few weeks with mock exams taking place and we start in earnest after the break with a real focus on targeted intervention with our Year 11 and Sixth Form students – this will be a key focus for the half term, making sure that these students are set up to be as successful as possible and achieve the best possible outcomes. I ask, please, that if we are wanting to work with Year 11 students during or after school that parents/carers support us to do this to give them that last nudge before their exams.
It’s also time to say goodbye to Mr Snow who leaves us to go to pastures new after half term – we will miss him and the impact that he has had on his year group, but we wish him all the best for his next venture. Details of who is replacing Mr Snow in his role will be sent out imminently.
For those of you who are on holiday next week, I hope that you have a great break, and we look forward to seeing all students back on Monday 19th February at 8:40am.
SEND Drop ins
We offer a number of ‘SEND drop ins’ throughout the year for parents/carer’s. These are open to any parent/carer who may want to discuss their child’s SEND needs further or parents/carer’s who have concerns that their children may have SEND needs that are yet to be diagnosed. If you wish to book an appointment in one of the slots below, please contact reception.
