Dear Parent/Carer,
This week at NUSA:
We have had a wonderfully festive week here at NUSA. Christmas dinner, rewards trips, fundraiser for Prom, rewards assemblies, 100% attendance awards and swap shop have made the week a joyous celebratory one. A perfect way to end my final week at NUSA.
I would like to thank you all for your support during my time at NUSA. I have loved every minute of working with your amazing children. I hope they continue to make you proud every single day. If I could ask one thing of you all, it would be to ask you to remember, that as parents/carers and teachers, we all want the same thing for your child. We want them to be safe, happy and successful. By working together, we can achieve that. If you have difficulties at home, related to school, please contact us as soon as possible so that the school can do what they can to support.
Last week I asked for some parent voice. Thank you to all of the parents who completed this. I have incorporated the findings in to the table below to show what you said and what we will do to fix it.
‘You said’
We will do
We would like a timetable which shows what students are learning each term
Our website is being updated to include all curriculum plans for each subject for each year group. This would then allow you to see what your child was learning each term.
We would like the phone to be answered more quickly in reception
We only have one receptionist in reception during each shift. Our busiest times are 8-9 and 2:30-3:30. If it is not an emergency, you can always email your child’s Head of Year or leave a message. We are looking to have a queue system put on our phones so that you will know how long you would have to wait to speak to reception.
We would like to know how we could support the school more as parents
In the New Year, we will look to set out a ‘Parent/carer support list’ which will show how you could help support us from home with your child.
Flu vaccine:
If your child missed the flu vaccination that was held at NUSA this week, the Immunisations Team are holding 'Mop-Up’ sessions over the next coming weeks.
