Letter to Year 7 Parents
Dear Parents/Carer’s,
Over the last year I have been Head of Year 7 and have overseen the transition of our 2022/23 cohort from Primary School to NUSA. It has been a pleasure to see the development and growth of our Year 7 students over the last year, and I am immensely proud of the progress they have made. My role has always been to ensure our newest students have a smooth transition to NUSA and make the best start possible, however this means as they are nearing the end of year 7 I will no longer be their head of year.
Moving forward, Mr. Snow will be the head of year for the current year 7s that are going into year 8. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last year and am incredibly proud of our 2022/23 cohort.
Thank you for your hard work and support
Mr. Henry
Dear Parents/ Carer’s,
I am delighted to introduce myself as the new head of year 7 and would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am to start this journey together. I have been at NUSA for many years in different job roles including Supply, Teacher Assistant, Assistant Head of Year and recently a Pastoral Support Manager, as well as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. As a result of my prior experience, I have a strong understanding of what is needed to ensure that students are successful and have the tools to help support them to get there.
Mr. Henry has done an excellent job of introducing year 7 to the high standards and expectations at NUSA and it is my intention to continue that momentum moving forwards. Year 7 have shown themselves to be a determined, talented and ambitious group of students and I look forward to supporting them in ensuring they achieve their full potential.
In order for this to be achieved, I ask for your support in ensuring that students adhere to the high expectations upon them and are aware of the consequences of their decisions. Specifically, I would ask for your support in the areas of immediate focus as outlined below;
1 – Manners and respect – for each other and all working professionals at NUSA.
2 – Communications – going back to basics will be my message, promoting a positive can-do attitude.
3 – Self regulation – to help manage behavior and feelings to things that happen around them as this is an important life skill.
It is my pleasure to lead this year group, by raising standards, expectations, progress and attainment and helping them to be the best version of themselves. I look forward to meeting you soon and throughout the coming year. If you have any queries or questions please feel free to email me on Rsnow@nusa.org.uk. This will take affect from the 1/7/2023
Kindest regards
Mr. Snow
