Weekly Letter 09.06.23
WC: 09/06/2023
Dear Parent/Carer,
At NUSA this week:
It has been lovely to welcome our wonderful students back this week.
Thank you to all of the parents, carers and students who attended our Y10 parents evening this week. It was great to hear so many positive conversations.
On Wednesday, the Y10 Geography group went to sunny Bridlington and Hornsea to collect data for their fieldwork. The group were a real pleasure to be with and demonstrated impeccable manners and behavior throughout. Well done Y10 Geographers!
This week we announced to Y7 that Mr Henry would be saying ‘Goodbye’ to them to pick up the new incoming Y7 and that Mr Snow would be taking over as Head of Year. This is an exciting time for our current Y7 and we look forward to the next part of their journey.
Year 11 – Leavers Update
After the Mathematics exam on Wednesday 14th June, all year 11s will be able to leave after the exam and begin full study leave. Pupils will still be expected in for any other exams after this time. Any pupil with a Catering or Geography exam must still attend their lessons. Any questions, please do not hesitate to email gmalhi@nusa.org.uk
On Tuesday 20th June, we will be holding our Year 11 Celebration Event. All Year 11s are expected to attend, as this is their final opportunity to say goodbye to all staff and pupils. It is also the time for shirt signing, leaving one another with a final keepsake. Year 11s and the Year 11 team have requested that all students come in school uniform on the day, but will need to bring a pen with them.
The event will begin at 1pm, so all pupils should be in school for this time. Below is an outline of the timings for the event:
1pm – Arrival and line up
1pm-1.20pm- Speeches and Tutor awards
1.20-2.20pm- 'The Last Dance' a video of our 5 years together
2.20-2.45pm- Afternoon tea in the canteen, shirt signing and photo backdrop
In addition to this, we would welcome any donations of uniform. If you have any ties or blazers that you are happy to part with, then please leave them at reception on the day.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your support and cooperation during this exam period and throughout your child’s time at NUSA. The last 5 years have been tumultuous, and your child has shown real strength and resilience in making it to this final point. We are incredibly proud of them all and wish them all the best in their futures!
