Dear Parent/Carer,

At NUSA this week:

Another busy week for Team NUSA.

Ofsted joined us in school for two days this week, and spent time observing the children and staff. I am so proud of the tremendous dedication, commitment and enthusiasm that was shown throughout the inspection process by both students and staff.

The report will now be finalized and I will be able to share it with our school community in a few weeks’ time. In the meantime, we will continue to work hard to provide your child with the best possible education.

As a special reward to our children for their continued hard work this half term, we will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 26th May.

Children received their reports this week and it was lovely to watch their excitement as they were opened. If you have any queries regarding your child’s report, please refer to the letter which indicates who to contact.

Year 11 are now in full flow for exam season. Please ensure your child is attending intervention where necessary, completing revision at home and generally being cheered on by everyone at home. We know they will all be successful. A reminder please that in these last few weeks for Year 11 the best place for them to be is in school. Absences should be at a bare minimum. We will keep you informed regarding the planned dates for home study for all students.

Coming up at NUSA:

SEND drop ins – Please contact reception to make an appointment for 24th May or 28th June if you need to discuss your child’s SEND needs.

Break up for half term – Friday 26th May

Return to school – Monday 5th June

Year 11’s last day is on Thursday 22nd June

Year 11 Prom is on Friday 30th June

Year 10 Work experience – week commencing Monday 3rd July

Sports Day – week commencing Monday 3rd July – date to be confirmed

Safeguarding Corner:

This weeks safeguarding corner is provided by ‘Catch 22’, an organization who are looking to support parents and students involved in Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE).
