Letter to Parents and Carers
Dear Parent/Carers,
It is hard to believe we have reached the end of the second week of term already. We have been really proud of the way in which our students have returned after Easter. For Year 11 in particular, the build up to the mock exams was an intense one and they really were deserving of a rest over the holidays. Reports have been sent out this week for all students. If you have not received your child’s report, please get in touch with your child’s form tutor.
A date for diaries for Year 11 parents and students. On Tuesday 10th May, Year 11 students will be having their final school photos and a year group photo. This will take place during the normal school day and the photography company will then send you further details for how you can purchase the photographs.
We have seen a real increase in the number of students who are wearing nose piercings to school at the moment. Nose piercings are not part of our school uniform, and therefore, should not be worn in school.
The following process will apply where a student is wearing a nose piercing.
If a student arrives to school wearing a metal nose stud, they will be asked to remove it and will be issued with a brand new plastic nose stud. Staff will log the nose stud on Kickboard as a B6 and the Head of Year will arrange for contact to be made with home. If a metal nose stud cannot be removed for medical reasons, a plaster will have to be worn over the nose until a date can be agreed for the stud to be removed.
A reminder that on Monday 2nd May school will be closed for bank holiday.
We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday 3rd May.
Yours Sincerely,
Emma Howard
Headteacher
