GCSE Maths Students Receive University Assistance

GCSE Students take part in sessions at UoN and NTU (Whole School - 12/05/2014)

In preparation for June’s GCSE Maths examinations NUSA have utilised their links with local universities to further support students. In April a group of Year 11 students were accompanied by Mr Amin to Nottingham Trent University to a Raise the Grade Conference. The pupils were focussed throughout the day as they strived to pick up pointers which will help them achieve that all important ‘C’ grade during their examinations. The student’s commitment on the day was evident for all to see as NUSA picked up three of the eight prizes on offer!

At the beginning of May it was the turn of NUSA’s Maths high flyers to pick up some expert tips from the University of Nottingham. A set of NUSA pupils will A*/A aspirations were treated to a series of workshops aimed at supporting the students achieve the magical top grade. Students got stuck into some challenging tasks, which ranged from Shape and Space to Trigonometry. All those attending were stretched on the day but left confident in the knowledge that they had all the resources they needed to succeed in the summer.
